Job Title: Commercial Manager
Salary: £52,000- £63,000 per annum dependent upon experience
Location: Winsford, Cheshire/ Hybrid

We currently have a vacancy to join one of the world’s leading, global aerospace and defence companies as a Commercial Manager. This role will be hybrid- based at their site in Winsford, Cheshire and working from home.

The role is within a specific part of their business which provides power to military applications when the user is away from the grid network or on the move.
As Commercial Manager you will work closely with Defence customers, predominantly in the UK, to understand and shape their requirements, develop new business opportunities, and drive them from the prospect stage through to contract award. New business opportunities will include the sale of new equipment, innovative managed service contracts and traditional parts and aftermarket services.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership of a customer-facing commercial team responsible for negotiating and drafting complex technical agreements, covering products and services. Using your business acumen to develop commercial solutions that meet the requirements of the customer and the business.
• Manage team to ensure delivery of the business requirements in line with goals, including: setting individual and team objectives and priorities, assessing performance, managing resources, recruiting, developing & retaining motivated staff.
• Build business relationships, strategic partnerships, and alliances to achieve innovative business solutions to secure profitable business whilst seeking to exceed the needs of the Customer and/ or Sector.
• Identify potential risks and liabilities inherent in tenders and contracts, propose and negotiate amendments using judgement in balancing commercial/ legal considerations.
• Provide senior management leadership and (where appropriate) manage/ negotiate resolution of claims, disputes and litigation in order to minimise cost and risk to the Company.

About You:

• Degree or equivalent qualification, together with significant relevant Commercial experience.
• Demonstrated internal/ external Customer-facing negotiating/ pricing/ claims experience at the most senior levels and has operated within an international environment.
• Established success as a servant leader in developing individuals/ teams and optimising performance of available resource. Mentors’ others inside and outside of the function and/ or company.
• Demonstrate experience of working well under pressure, to deadlines and be a confident decision maker.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to be able to overcome challenges to meet goals and drive for results and, exercise sound business judgement.
