Job Title: Aircraft Wheel and Brake Technician
Salary:up to £27,000 dependent on experience
Location: Southend on Sea

Aeropeople are currently recruiting for an Aircraft Wheel and Brake Technician on behalf of our client based in Southend on Sea.
Established 20 years ago they are an approved aircraft repair station specialising in aviation wheel and brake services. Their sizable workshop/ office offers the space to carry out full testing, inspection, repair and overhaul of the majority of regional, commercial, military and corporate aircraft wheels, brakes, landing gear, freight locking system components, hydraulics, actuators, valves and accumulators. They also have their own Non- Destructive Testing department on site. Their customers span the UK to Europe, USA, Canada, Middle and Far East.
The purpose of this role is to support the company's repair activities across the business. This is a key mechanical role to the business repairing and overhauling aircraft wheels and brakes to be released into service. All parts will be identified and controlled by querying the work orders and various computer systems at your disposal to determine work scope.

Main Responsibilities:

• Understand and carry out inspection of aircraft wheel and brake parts.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues using hand tools and power tools
• Follow maintenance manuals and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance activities and be able to read and understand work instructions, maintenance manuals and customer specification.
• Collaborate with other technicians and team members to complete maintenance tasks efficiently.
• Provide exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders and external customers

About You:

• Previous experience as an Aircraft Wheel and Brake Technician or in a similar role is essential.
• Previous similar experience in the automotive industry will be considered.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude for working with complex systems.
• Disassembly and cleaning of aircraft brake components.
• Pressure testing aircraft brake assemblies.
• Know and understand risk assessments associated with task, including Task Risk Assessment or CoSHH Assessment referenced in the work instruction.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment used in aircraft wheel and brake maintenance.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as required
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Customer service-oriented mindset
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and technical publications to perform duties in compliance with customer requirements.
• General knowledge of precision measuring tools with skills and prior work experience in hydraulics or pneumatics, knowledgeable in an electronic environment.
• Knowledge and experience with personal computer systems.
